Friendly and Accommodating Staff! And Esther (Dang) is THE BEST!!! 🙂
I injured my knee during a basketball game and I am really in pain. It was a last minute appointment but they still accommodated my request. Shout out to the receptionist. My Physiotherapist Esther Doroteo carefully examined my knee. She is very knowledgeable and very patient. She is also very accommodating. It is like talking to a friend.
Highly recommended to anyone who may need their expertise! Aside from having a clean and cozy center, the treatment for my neck and shoulder pain was really amazing. I’ve been experiencing chronic neck and shoulder pain and went to different doctors/ rehab centers but only in Prohealth I experienced progress. Esther (my physiotherapist) is very knowledgeable, she is very good/very professional. She knew what to do and she was very caring & patient to educate me regarding my case. Thank you Esther for your excellent care.
Prior to consulting with Prohealth, I have been experiencing low back issues. I’ve had several consultations from doctors and even did rehabilitation for my lumbar spine a few years back. Unfortunately, the low back issues kept coming back. Being a circus athlete and a woman, being able to functionally move daily and train regularly are both extremely important to me. Esther‘s help as my physiotherapist has been hugely beneficial to the treatment of my lower back and our physical therapy sessions (even post therapy care) has helped me restore function and movement in other affected areas of my body as well. Since Dang specializes on women’s health, a lot of the application in our sessions also covers women-specific therapy and how it relates to a lot of my movement and training patterns. I am four weeks into my physical therapy sessions and the results have been nothing but progressive!
For about 5+ years ive been suffering from a herniated/ruptured disc in my L5 S1 spine. It has constantly affected not only my sports activities, but my daily life as well. I had problems doing simple things like carrying my daughter, and even bending over to tie my shoes. After 6 weeks of therapy and strength training, I can strongly say that I have improved my functions to about 90%. I strongly recommend this team if you are looking for rehabilitation for any injuries. Thanks Prohealth! And Thanks Doc Esther (Dang) for helping me with my journey towards recovery.
Tell us about your background in Physiotherapy.
I graduated and became a registered physiotherapist in the Philippines in 2013. I had a couple of setbacks before finally finding my place in the field of sports. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work at a sports clinic and became a team physiotherapist for volleyball. I’ve handled the men and women’s volleyball team of Mapua Institute of Technology for two years and still handling the Champion Supra Volleyball Team (formerly known as Sta. Elena Construction and Development Volleyball Team), a club team that joins semi-pro volleyball leagues. I’ve also had the chance to cover other sports events such as judo, cheerleading and rugby as a part of the sports medic.
What are your interests?
I see myself as an adventure seeker and a risk taker. Whenever there is an opportunity to travel, I grab it. When time permits, I make sure that I travel to local destinations, do lots of firsts and take a grasp of the culture and its rich heritage. I love coffee and look for new places to eat and write.
Tell us about a life-changing experience or adventure you’ve been on.
It would probably be the first time that I travelled. I have been living in the city all my life and never been to a beach. Since then, my passion for travelling and pushing myself out of my comfort zone became stronger. I want to feel the thrill of a good hike or the serenity of the sea whenever I am sad or stressed.
When I graduated from college, the only thing that’s on my mind was finding a stable job at the expense of not pursuing my passion. And because of that, I have also been able to go out of my comfort zone with regards to my profession. I wanted to practice and pursue my career in the field of sports since college, and so I did it.
What is your area of expertise?
Treating knee and ankle injuries are my expertise. I always come across a painful knee and a sprained ankle being a team physiotherapist for volleyball teams.
What is the most fulfilling part of the job?
When you see your patients get better, they appreciate you for helping them. It’s a satisfactory feeling to see that I am a channel of their recovery. The most rewarding feeling is that when they tell me they feel well and they recommend you to others.
